1,300 Speed Bags Make Muhammad Ali Sculpture
Coming to Nokia Plaza L.A. Live in Los Angeles on March 25, 2011 is a new, one-of-a-kind sculpture that pays homage to one of the greatest boxers of all-time, Muhammad Ali. Made up of 1,300 boxing speed bags, the piece stands at 22 feet high and is held up by 5 miles of stainless steel cable and 2 miles of aluminum tubing.

It Would Take 10 Years To Read One Day’s Tweets
Here’s a startling statistic from Death and Taxes: it would take the average person 10 years to read one day’s worth of Twitter posts.
Here’s the breakdown:
- Users post 50 million tweets per day.
- According to the writer’s personal tests over 15 minutes, it takes about 6.6 seconds to read each tweet.
- That’s 330 million seconds, or 10.4 years.
That’s saying nothing about the quality of tweets, but it’s an impressive showing for a service that didn’t exist five years ago ago. Now all Twitter has to do is figure out how to make money from all those little messages floating across the wires.
Of course, that’s nothing compared with email: according to the Radicati Group, more than 294 billion emails are sent every day. And most of those take far more than 6 seconds to read.
