Eid al-Adha (Arabic: عيد الأضحى) Feast of the Sacrifice or Greater Eid, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honor the willingness of ʾIbrāhīm (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismā’īl (Ishmael) as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a sheep to sacrifice instead.
Eid al-Adha celebrations start after the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Makkah in Saudi Arabia by Muslims worldwide, descent from Mount Arafat.

Peter Gentenaar isn’t any ordinary paper artist. He creates extraordinarily beautiful paper sculptures that have an ethereal quality to them. His exhibition at the abbey church of Saint-Riquier church in northern France proves this point. It’s where he hung more than a 100 paper sculptures in the church’s grand halls. (What a perfect backdrop.)
